About Me – Allison Caffyn (BA Hons)

I have been researching my own family history for over thirty years having developed an interest at a young age.  I have a degree in Librarianship and Information Science and worked as reference librarian in business and public libraries for many years. 

My own family history is Sussex based and I have extensive knowledge of the county as well as Surrey, Kent and London.  One of my ancestors was a leading figure in the Baptist faith in Sussex in the seventeenth century, as a result I am well aware of the difficulties and challenges when it comes to searching non conformist family history.  See my website for more information about my own family history research.

I am a member of the Society of Genealogists and the Guild of One Name Studies (Caffyn/Caffin).

Recent research projects have included the ancestry of Bobby Moore, Gypsy family history in Kent as well as tracing family trees in south east England.

I am also a keen photographer, belonging to Eastbourne Photographic Society, and have had my photographs in the local newspapers.
